In 2010, we took a major step in the life of a project currently under development: the Theatre Department at Douglas College invited us to mount a studio production of Denmark. The play is a 5-actor version of Shakespeare's Hamlet set in a contemporary context: there are no references to monarchy or matters of national concern as the story focuses on a family that could easily live next door. Every word in the play is Shakespeare's yet the result is a contemporary look at modern family politics, domestic violence and coming-of-age.
